It’s fun to work at the - “Y.M.C.A.”

And that’s just what we did today as we held our first medical clinic in the compound of the Bhubaneswar YMCA. This is quite an active branch of the “Y”, offering a wide range of education, social activities and training to this needy community. All four Joy India medical teams setup in this facility and though the patient traffic was slow in the beginning it picked up as the day went on. Dr. Ravi Vallabhan performed a minor surgical procedure in mid-afternoon relieving a patient of a severe abscess on the side of his face. By the time we saw the last patient the total number of people to which we had ministered was tallied at 532.

As we gathered together this evening for our daily debrief, Dr. Everett Berry reminded us that while in this region of India known for thousands of Hindu temples, in fact WE are temples. We are built to be dwelling places for the Holy Spirit and should be vessels through which He can work.

A matter of “praise” to report was the kick-off of the pastor’s conference held in a nearby city. Everett Berry, who presides over this critical facet of the ministry, led over thirty men in the first day of this exciting equipping mission for the local pastor’s and church planters.

Again be in prayer for us tomorrow as we travel a great distance to a village called Dengara.
